Dr Briony Norris

A patient-focused urological and robotic surgeon who is devoted to obtaining the best outcomes for her patients.
Dr Briony Norris graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 with degrees in Medical Science and Medicine & Surgery. Briony completed her general urological training in Melbourne and also completed her diploma of surgical anatomy through the University of Melbourne. Briony completed a fellowship in Functional Urology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2016. In addition to this practical experience, Briony completed a second fellowship in Robotic Surgery and kidney stone surgery at New York University Langone Medical Center in New York, gaining expertise within a prestigious, high volume robotic surgical centre with world leaders in urology.
Dr Norris treats all aspects of general urology such as managing conditions like elevated PSA, haematuria (blood in the urine), kidney and ureteric stones, enlarged prostates, voiding dysfunction and cancer of the prostate, bladder, testes and kidney. She specialises in minimally invasive surgery and laser for kidney stones, and in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for both benign and malignant kidney conditions. Dr Norris is also passionate about teaching and mentoring junior doctors and is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Melbourne and is on faculty for the International Medical Robotics Academy (IMRA) running courses teaching new robotic surgeons. Dr Norris also sees patients in rooms at Epworth Eastern and Blackwood St in North Melbourne, and has public appointments at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Norris also travels to Ballarat and sees patients through Ballarat Urology and Grampians Health Service.
When Briony isn’t helping her patients she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, experiencing new cultures while travelling and being active.
